Mr. Farrar has 25 years of experience in the real estate, private equity and corporate finance industries. Since 2010, his team has completed approximately $5 billion of real estate acquisitions and dispositions across the United States. Mr. Farrar has been Chief Executive Officer of City Office REIT since its initial public offering in 2014. In 2009, he co-founded Second City Real Estate, the private equity real estate firm that contributed the initial properties to form City Office REIT. Prior to joining Second City Real Estate, Mr. Farrar spent seven years as a senior executive of a family office with a diversified portfolio concentrated in the real estate and hospitality sectors. Previously, he was an investment professional with the private equity group of TD Bank (now Birch Hill Equity Partners). Mr. Farrar received a bachelor of business administration degree and is a CPA and a CFA charterholder.
Mr. Tylee has over 20 years of diverse real estate experience that includes all types of income producing property as well as both land and high-rise development. Over the course of his career, he has been involved in over $2.5 billion of real estate acquisitions. Mr. Tylee has been President and Chief Operating Officer of City Office REIT since its initial public offering in 2014. He joined Second City Real Estate, the private equity real estate firm that contributed the initial properties to form City Office REIT, in 2010 as a Managing Director. Prior to joining Second City, Mr. Tylee was President of Bosa Properties Inc., a prominent real estate company based in Vancouver, British Columbia. With over 400 employees, Bosa developed and constructed over 1,000 residential condominiums and several hundred thousand square feet of commercial space each year. Mr. Tylee received a bachelor of accounting degree and is a CPA.
Mr. Maretic has over 20 years of experience, including over 15 years in senior financial and operational roles. He has been Chief Financial Officer, Secretary & Treasurer of City Office REIT since its initial public offering in 2014. Prior to City Office, Mr. Maretic served as the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Earls Restaurants Ltd., one of North America’s premier privately held restaurant companies. Mr. Maretic has also held several financial management positions with a U.S. based senior living REIT and with the predecessor of Bentall Kennedy, one of North America’s premier institutional real estate advisory companies, which was a $2 billion public real estate company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange. Mr. Maretic received a bachelor’s degree in commerce and business administration and is a CPA.
Ms. Chung has over 16 years of finance and accounting experience with expertise in private and public reporting, regulatory compliance and managing financial operations through growth. Ms. Chung joined the Company in 2014 and directed the accounting leading up to City Office REIT’s IPO. Previously, Ms. Chung was with Apollo Global Management in private equity financial reporting and fund accounting for strategic accounts. Prior to that, Ms. Chung worked for Deloitte LLP servicing the private equity and investment management sector in London, UK. Ms. Chung is a CPA.
Ms. Hansen has over 20 years of public and private company, corporate governance and real estate experience. Ms. Hansen’s role encompasses the areas of governance, corporate affairs and stakeholder communications for the Company. In 2014, she joined Second City Real Estate, the private equity real estate firm that formed City Office REIT. Prior to that, she held corporate governance positions for a number of public and private companies. Ms. Hansen is also responsible for the development and management of City Office REIT’s ESG strategy as the chair of the Company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Committee and is an active member of CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women).
Mr. Pool has over 35 years of commercial real estate experience focused in the office sector. Mr. Pool joined the Company in 2017. Prior to City Office REIT, he was the Senior Managing Director and City Lead for Asset Services with Cushman & Wakefield in Dallas, Texas. In that role, he was responsible for over 10 million SF of commercial properties. He has also held positions as Director of Property Management and Vice President of Asset Management for Cousins Properties REIT. Mr. Pool holds CPM and RPA designations (IREM and BOMI) and a Texas real estate license. He is also Past President of BOMA - Dallas.
